Infinity Fitness Reading CIC - Company Reg: 16959187

Infinity Fitness Reading is the UK’s first wellness centre to combine personal training, group fitness, yoga and mental health services – all in one membership subscription. We make booking to see a Person Centred Counsellor, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist or Psychotherapist as easy as booking a fitness class. Our aim is to help communities see and understand the connection between their physical fitness and their mental health and the need to take care of both.
We are different to most commercial gyms. We have no shareholders and we employ a circular revenue system where up to 40% of the membership fee that people pay to access our services goes towards paying for community members to access free and part-funded counselling, free monthly memberships and community programs. We opened in 2017 with four volunteers and now have a team of over 100 people working together to help as many of our community members access fitness, yoga and mental health services.

We use the profit that would ordinarily go to private shareholders to do the following:
-
Deliver over 40 hours of classes including free strength, fitness, yoga and meditation classes each week. Everyday there are a number of different activities from fitness to yoga and class prices starting from £5.00
-
Work towards reducing the barriers families face when accessing professional physical fitness and mental health activities by delivering family activities, allowing children to participate in classes and having an on-site crèche staffed by a childcare practitioner
-
Have a team of physiotherapists, counsellors, psychotherapists and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists working alongside our fitness and yoga team. We aim to provide funded counselling sessions to anyone who applies via our self-referral application form. For the most vulnerable people in our community, access to our counselling service is free and for those that can contribute, our subsidised price per session starts at £25.00.
-
Provide support and funding for people to train towards completing fitness industry qualifications and support towards gaining employment or professional sports careers.

Your coaching plan is based on where you are now and where you want to be. It is tailored to you, so everything you need is covered along your coaching journey. This is a process of supporting discovery and change. It's about examining everything that will help, hinder or skyrocket your development, empowering you to see things differently, understand your potential and carve out your own direction.
By committing to giving your time and energy to the process, it will enable ripples of change. The more work you put in outside of the sessions, the more positive change and fulfilment will be experienced.

Infinity Fitness are proud to announce the launch of Un-boxed, a pioneering programme in partnership with XYZ ABC that hopes to use the power of boxing to prevent young people from becoming involved in crime, violence, or antisocial behaviour.
This nitiative will provide safe, structured opportunities for young people (girls and boys) aged 14–18 from rural hard to reach areas or communities or who are at risk of offending, with the aim of transforming lives and strengthening communities.
In line with our funding criteria, eligible participants will be randomly offered one of two activities:
-
Boxing: Participants are enrolled on the boxing programme, where they receive access to two group boxing sessions per week for six months at one of our participating clubs
-
Gym: Participants are given a free gym membership.
Boxing has long been recognised for its unique ability to engage young people who may not connect with traditional sports or education. Its discipline, structure, and focus on respect provide a positive outlet for energy and emotion, while offering role models who can guide participants toward positive choices.
By combining grassroots delivery with robust independent evaluation from the Ending Youth Violence Lab, Un-boxed aims to provide valuable insight into the impact of boxing in tackling some of society’s most pressing challenges, from school exclusions to youth violence.
The programme was co-designed with clubs and informed by research into what works best in diverting young people away from crime. Those involved with delivery will benefit from funding for coaching and venue hire, as well as support with community events, training opportunities and new kit. These clubs will be at the heart of the project, delivering boxing to referred young people and having a positive impact on their community.
We hope to form strong partnerships and work closely with clubs, referral partners and communities to deliver Un-boxed on the ground. We hope their experience in sport, youth engagement, and community development will ensure the programme is rooted in the needs of each specific group. Together, this team will support over a wide range of clubs and welcome more a diverse range of young people into the programme.
XYZ ABC, Project Manager, said: “We’re really excited to be launching Un-boxed, which will help us evidence the societal impact boxing can have in supporting young people and evaluate its role as a vehicle for change.
“Working alongside statutory services and in partnership with affiliated clubs, we’ll engage young people who need the service and the structure most – offering them opportunities to get active, connect positively with their communities, and ultimately divert them away from offending behaviours.”
As Un-boxed launches, we invite partners from youth justice services, schools, community organisations and beyond to work with us in identifying young people who could benefit. With your support, we can ensure Un-boxed reaches those who need it most.
